Pop culture mashups have been increasing in popularity as of late, and it’s mashups like this that bring out the inner nostalgia in all of us. People love Pokemon, and people love Disney, so it was only a matter of time before some awesome artist came along and put the two together.
Power washing your concrete driveway and sidewalks can be a huge pain. This one particular fellow takes much longer to power wash his house for an awesome reason. ART! This guy decided to turn this arduous task into a fun art project by masking off areas with chalk and taking advantage of the negative dirty concrete space that remains.
Check out his awesome detailed power-washed creations:
His first attempt. Pretty good!
Pikachu! He starts with an outline in chalk.
The finished Pikachu.
Here the artists attempts something a little more complicated – Bender from Futurama.
Doesn’t look too great at first…
But he pulls through again with another amazing piece!
The artist laying with his creations in the driveway.
We know what this is going to be :).
The finished Stormtrooper.
The artist with his magnificent creation.
Is this a Miyazaki tree spirit + Shy Guy??
Yes. Yes it is indeed.
The chalk work of Majora’s Mask is impressive in its own right!
Next step is to establish the thin lines.
Thickening the lines. Almost there!
Majora’s Mask in all it’s pressure-washed glory.
Artist and cat for scale.
Frank’s mask from Donnie Darko. So good!
Rock on!
The artist on Reddit stated he accidentally etched through the concrete with the extremely high pressure of the water.
“If you attempt this, make sure you keep the nozzle at least 6″-8″ away from the ground. I definitely accidentally etched most of Majora’s Mask into our backyard concrete slab. I’m not mad, but as long as the parents don’t notice, I won’t notice.”
I hope his driveway and patios get dirty again soon so we can see his next power washer creations!
Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are not only some of the most epic people on the planet, but they also happen to be best friends. Magneto and Prof X, Gandalf and Captain Picard, I mean, of course they’re friends. It would be a crime if they weren’t.
Scroll below to witness the glory that we like to call the McStewen friendship.
They find each other at parties and hang out the whole night.
Silver foxes ladies and gentlemen.
They leave said parties in style, together of course.
See ya suckers!
They watch sports together.
American football? Why Not.
They go to conventions together. Or you know, speak at them.
Embracing ComicCon as champions.
They celebrate holidays together.
This picture single-handedly proves 2014 is going to be awesome.
They take ridiculous selfies and send them to each other.
This picture completes my life.
They’re in each others weddings.
They take trips together. All of these are from a sightseeing NYC trip.
Sightseeing. In bowler hats. So British, so cute.
WTF is Sir Ian wearing? I don’t care, he pulls it off. 10/10.
Happy even sitting upon piles of trash. Again, Sir Ian, your socks are magnificent.
Even in the great NYC, they still manage to stay beautifully British.
Corn on the cob and hot dogs. MURICA!
Oh you know, just being arch nemeses and such.
I hope these pictures gave you a little more faith in the world and in the future. Thank you McStewen, for giving us so much hope in these uncertain times.
